Urban Librarians Unite holds third annual conference at the Brooklyn Public Library

Urban Librarians Unite, an association of urban librarian professionals and advocates, held their third annual conference last Friday at the Brooklyn Public Library.

Featured speakers included Lancelot Chase, a gaming expert interested in bridging the “gap between underdeveloped tech talent in low-income communities and the exploding tech-economy,” Dianna Morganti, the interim Central Library Coordinator at the San Antonio Public LibraryJennifer Byrnes, a business research specialist at the Rochester Public Library, and Eric Neuman, an NYC Department of Education school librarian and teacher.

Breakout sessions addressed topics like “Health Happens in Libraries,” “Brooklyn Public Library’s Teacher Lab,” and “Starting a New Job: Survival of the Cardigan-Clad Fittest.”

Organizers Lauren Comito and Christian Zabriskie declared the day a great success.
