Yesterday, after seeing the photo to the right on Twitter, I wondered if the web address www.fuckamazon.com was available—as a businessman and an entrepreneur, I’m always looking for new opportunities. Unfortunately, GoDaddy informed me that www.fuckamazon.com was not available, though www.copulateamazon.com was. Curious as to who actually owned www.fuckamazon.com, I headed over to Who.Is to discover the truth.

Amazon owns www.fuckamazon.com.

Amazon isn’t the only corporation to own a “fuck[itself].com” domain—www.fucknike.com is owned by Nike. But it’s not terribly common: www.fuckapple.com is owned by a woman in Maryland, while www.fuckford.com, www.fucklowes.com, and www.fuckcvs.com are all available (and fairly cheap!). Some “fuck[company].com” domains are privately held—www.fucktoyota.com and www.fuckhomedepot.com, for instance. Privately registering a web domain is not expensive (it costs $9.99/year from GoDaddy) which makes the fact that you can see that Amazon, a notoriously cheap company owned by a notoriously cheap man, owns www.fuckamazon.com all the more hilarious.

Based on my research, Amazon also bought a few other domain names: www.screwamazon.com and www.amazonstinks.com. Amazon also owns www.amazonsucks.com, though it declined to purchase www.amazonblows.com. Amazon somehow let www.scamazon.com, which is owned by someone unaffiliated with the company, fall through its fingers.

The most interesting domain owned by Amazon, however, is www.boycottamazon.com.

Keeping www.boycotamazon.com away from activists is exactly the kind ruthless, brazen move you’d expect from a company that famously owns www.relentless.com (that one, unlike the others, redirects to Amazon’s actual site).

Amazon does not own www.fuckhachette.com. Yet.
