As reported in a comment to the previous MobyLives report (by Portland resident Alan Cordle, of Foetry fame), and in this Oregonian story, the City of Portland has fired the bus driver caught reading his Kindle while driving with his elbows …. Apparently, they’d tried to fire driver Lahcen Qouchbane once before, for getting in an argument with a passenger he subsequently shoved off the bus, but the union had forced his reinstatement.
