Fodor’s revamping travel book apps

Travel guide company Fodor’s announced recently that they will be providing a series of city guides as mobile apps for iOS. Free for the first time, the apps from the Fodor’s Travel imprint provide information and recommendations for tourist attractions, dining, nightlife, and other travel info, so now you can get around foreign cities without pulling out a physical travel book and looking like a tourist.
The apps are available for New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Rome, and Barcelona. In addition to the info you’d usually find in a travel book, they allow you to search venues by price, see what’s nearby, bookmark your favorite spots, add field notes, and download maps before you travel so that you can access them online without paying for data roaming.
