Gary Shteyngart has reprised his schtick as the illiterate buffoon author in a book trailer for the paperback of Super Sad True Love Story. But instead of featuring the ubiquitous James Franco as he did in the trailer for the hardcover, Shteyngart has drafted Paul Giamatti to aid him in his new exploits, such as attending a book party to pick up cougars. Overall, I’d say it’s lacking the freshness of the hardcover trailer but it’s worth sitting through for the excellent jokes at the expense of great Russian literature at the end.
