Google says it’s not gonna take that from la France
by Dennis Johnson
Google was originally sued by one of France’s biggest publishing houses, Les Editions du Seuil and other publishers owned by La Martiniere group, “which claimed that thousands of its works had been digitised by Google without consent.”
The court ruled, “Google has committed acts of copyright violation to the detriment of Le Seuil,” and in addition to its payment to the publishers ordered Google to pay a € “symbolic sum of one euro to the SNE Publishers’ Association and the SGDL Society of Authors.”
