How many books does the Booker sell?

And so another Booker Eve has passed, no doubt restlessly for the shortlisted authors and their publishers. A la Data has some pretty pleasing infographics, showing the sales bumps those six shortlisted titles have already enjoyed. A summary:

So no surprises so far: the smaller outfits and newer writers have felt the impact more. It’s wild, though, to see how that looks on a graph. A la Data charts total book sales against incremental book sales for the period from 22nd July to 29th September:
And here’s the crowning stat: ‘In all, the Booker buzz has generated at least £150,000 in extra sales so far for the books concerned.’
