Steve Jobs: had a good weekend

In case you somehow missed it, the Apple iPad launch on Saturday went pretty dern well. To quote a CBS News report, it was “Like the Beatles of 2010.” And what’s not to love? As Stephen Colbert puts it in the report, it has numerous practical uses: “You can shield your eyes from the sun. And just look how quickly it makes delicious salsa!”

As to what that actually amounts to: A Business Week report says “Apple Inc. is likely to sell more than twice as many iPads in its debut weekend than some analysts estimated,” and “may have reached 700,000 units.”

“Meanwhile,” says one report at SlashGear.com, “analysts are calling for Kindle prices to be slashed in response to the iPad.”
