Booksellers! Melville House’s Adopt-a-Penguin program has been extended!

by

That‘s right! Because of some late arriving requests (not to mention how successful the promotion has been) we’ve decided to extend our Adopt-a-Penguin program for booksellers through the end of January.

We’re talking two, three or maybe even four penguins for some stores by that point. Maybe more…Who knows how many penguins we can save now? The bottom line is that the fun continues.

So far, two stores have signed on to the extended Adopt-a-Penguin promotion. Barnes & Noble #1893 in Jenkintown, PA and… The first Canadian bookseller to sign on! The Bookshelf in Ontario, Canada.

Need a reminder of how the Adopt-a-Penguin program works?

From now until January 31st Melville House is going to be adopting an emperor penguin in the name of any bookstore in North America that sells 25 copies of Death and the Penguin and/or Penguin Lost by Andrey Kurkov. You can help save a penguin and your local bookstore all while enjoying a great book! UPDATE: Melville House will adopt a penguin in the name of any bookstore in North America for EVERY 25 copies they sell. Multiple penguins per store. All you need now is an ice floe.

As a reader all you need to do is head down to your local bookseller and pick up a copy of either book. If your local store hasn’t heard about the promotion let them know about it and if they have make sure they record your purchase.

And the race continues...

Booksellers: Check out the the promotion’s perimeters over at the Penguin Lost blog, where all things Adopt-a-Penguin live.

Penguin-loving-Readers:  Check out this list of participating bookstores to see if there is one near you. Or, please feel free proselytize penguins to your local store and have them get in touch with us to sign up.

Paul Oliver is the marketing manager of Melville House. Previously he was co-owner of Wolfgang Books in Philadelphia.
