Morrissey helps fainting patron at New York bookstore

by

According to a report in DNA InfoMorrissey—front man for the Smiths—played doctor at New York’s Strand Books this past Monday when a fellow customer collapsed. According to the report:

[An] employee, who asked that his name not be used, said he heard the sound of toppling books and ran over to investigate.

“When I got there, [Morrissey] was already there, on his knee,” the employee said. “But she was sort of unresponsive.”

While the employee ran to the intercom system to page for any doctors in the store, Morrissey stayed with the woman and remained there even after she came to, shaken and embarrassed.

According to another employee, Joseph Williamson, “He was very personal … He was very kindly to the lady.”

The woman who fainted has fully recovered, according to Williamson. She was seen near the store again later in the week.
