Publishing in the Age of Blah Blah Blah

by

Well everyone, get excited!  Why?  Because tonight Melville House kicks off our “Publishing in the Age of Blah Blah Blah” series with an absolutely amazing group of authors!  Starting at 7, Brooklyn authors will discuss… e-books!  We’ll have John Wray, Lev Grossman, Heidi Julavits, Myla Goldberg, Joe Meno, Joshua Henkin, Sarah Manguso and our own Tao Lin in the bookstore chatting away about how they feel the e-book is, or is not, going to change the future of reading, writing, and publishing.

Come out and join us, because after these authors say their piece, we’re letting them loose into the audience to talk with you about how you feel about this new-fangled technology. If you’re too intimidated to talk to your favorite local writer, don’t worry. Wine and beer will be available. We’ll be selling their books as well, so that’s a good intro to a conversation… “Would you please sign?” Just remember, it’s a bit more tricky to have someone scrawl on your Kindle or Sony e-reader…

The festivities start at 7, and it only costs $5 to get in, but be warned: we’re going to have a packed house. So if you want to grab a seat in one of our brightly colored folding chairs, get here early. That said, we won’t turn you away at the door if you can squeeze in standing up!

Remember, we’re in DUMBO at 145 Plymouth Street (yes, that’s Brooklyn and damn we are proud). To get here, just hop on the F train to York Street (recommended) or the A,C to High Street-Brooklyn Bridge (a bit trickier to find us from there).

See you tonight!
