Slideshow: The newly reopened Queen Anne

The newly rechristened & reopened Queen Anne Book Company in Seattle

Last week, we told you about the Seattle bookstore formerly known as Queen Anne Books that had shut down in the fall and has just reopened as Queen Anne Book Company. As luck would have it, I was visiting Seattle over the weekend and was able to get to the store for its grand opening, and below is a slideshow of the newly renovated space.

From Friday through Sunday, the local institution had a slate of events to celebrate being back in business, featuring several authors from the area. And rather than doing traditional readings, writers including Bernadette Pajer (see slideshow), Maria Semple, and Matt Ruff were set up at a table for several hours at a time, where they could interact one-on-one with fans in the store and, of course, sign copies of their books. While I wasn’t able to stay at the store for too long, it was bustling and busy on Saturday afternoon, and hopefully that bodes well for its future.
