At his blog, heheheheheheheeheheheehehe.com, Tao Lin observes that Professor Carla Bluhm of the College of Coastal Georgia has assigned Lin’s short story collection Bed to students in her “Introduction to Human Development” class. Their assignment? To tweet about the stories. Frin Bluhm’s instructions:

… you can respond to the short stories about Tao’s life in any way you find creative, intellectually interesting, or connected to the course. However, please follow the regular rules of classroom etiquette while creating your tweets, e.g. being critical is fine, as long as it is done with tact, etc. We will follow each others’ twitter accounts and have a “conversation” 140 characters at a time about early adulthood vis-a -vis his stories. At the end of the semester you will be required to print out your tweets and hand them in to me. Aim to create 10 tweets for each of the three short stories that we will read for class for a total of 30 overall. In the spirit of the assignment you should also read your classmates tweets daily as they build into a collective conversation with one another. (Due by May 3)
