Title changes, but steady goods between the covers
by Valerie Merians
Rage-porn bunny and media darling, Ann Coulter, has a new book coming in June entitled Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America. According to this report in the LA Times book blog, “Coulter seems to be courting controversy with the book.”
Indeed, it seems to have gone well beyond the courtship stage. She’s shagging it vigorously, and profitably.
Coulter’s books are catnip for those who can’t get enough of her chirpy, sadistic charm — oooh, the tongue lashings! And this latest is no exception, with more of her trademark fantastical statements to titillate and excite. Take this example from the LA Times piece:
Just as fire seeks oxygen, Democrats seek power, which is why they will always be found championing the mob whether the mob consists of Democrats lynching blacks or Democrats slandering the critics of ObamaCare as racists.
She manages to keep that steady flow of rage and bizarre conflations coming in this latest installment. It should more than satisfy those who ponied up for her earlier bestsellers.
And a quick look at some of those earlier titles shows some marked similarities:
Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America
Godless: The Church of Liberalism
Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism
Slander: Liberal Lies about the American Right
But not all the titles are Adjective: Outrageous Descriptive Statement. No. There’s also:
If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d be Republican
How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must): The World According to Ann Coulter
High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton
She could keep this up for years! She already has….
