We post the interview — conducted by translator Kamran Rastegar at Dowlatabadi’s home in Tehran– as part of our celebration not only of Dowlatabadi’s ground-breaking Soluch, but also as part of our lead-up to our forthcoming publication of his newest novel, currently banned in Iran, The Colonel.
