Win a copy of Ada’s Algorithm!

by

IMG_9063Today is Ada Lovelace Day, an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM)!

For those who don’t know, Ada Lovelace was the unsung pioneer who wrote the first computer program (in 1842!). Her life story is told beautifully in Ada’s Algorithm by James Essinger, which comes out today in paperback. And we’re giving away a copy to one lucky reader!

Here’s how you win: Tell us what you’re doing to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day, post it on your social network of choice in whatever form best captures it (text, photo, video, haiku, your call), and tag us (we’re @melvillehouse on all platforms). Whoever has the most creative idea gets the book.

You can post however many ideas you can come up with, because one thing’s for sure: Ada Lovelace deserves all of our collective thanks. After all, you wouldn’t even have the device you’re staring at right now if it wasn’t for her hard work.

So here’s to a happy Ada Lovelace Day—and good luck!
