Today the New America Foundation is hosting a day of panels titled, “How to Ignite, or Quash, a Revolution in 140 Characters or Less.” Yoani Sánchez, author of Havana Real: One Woman Fights to Tell the Truth About Cuba Today, was invited to attend. She was not granted an exit visa to leave Cuba so she sent a video addressing the NAF. MJ Porter, Yoani’s translator, was able to attend and will discuss Yoani’s work and the Cuban perspective on democracy movements that’s swept the globe this year.
