One of the UK’s best-known book bloggers is moving into publishing. According to a Bookseller report, Mark Thwaite, founder of the great (and early) blog ReadySteadyBook, and former UK correspondent for MobyLives, has joined Quercus Books “for the newly-created role of digital marketing manager.”

According to the report, “Thwaite, who has been managing editor of The Book Depository for the past four years, alongside running the ReadySteadyBook blog, will work across both Quercus and MacLehose titles, aiming to increase their profile across the web. He will also contribute to the ongoing re-development of the Quercus company website.”

Quercus CEO Mark Smith explained Thwaite’s job further: “We know we have lots of readers on Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads, and he can help us reach out to them. An innovative digital strategy is key to Quercus’ future and we look forward to Mark playing a big part in that.”

Thwaite, who worked at Amazon.co.uk before helping found the Book Depository, says “After a decade as a book seller, I’m hugely excited to be moving into publishing.”

Good luck, Mark! And welcome.
