Blackwell’s to launch first Espresso machine in a bookstore

One of London’s leading booksellers, Blackwell’s, has announced it will “launch the first Espresso Book Machine” in one of its stores — in fact, in what may be considered its most prominent store, the one located in the world’s most famous bookstore neighborhood, on Charing Cross Road. The launch, as this story from The Bookseller notes, will allow patrons to purchase “any book” in the world available on a print-on-demand basis within three minutes. Blackwell was supposed to launch the Espresso last fall, but instead waited for a newer version. Now, the company plans to showcase the machine at the London Book Fair in April before making it available to customers on April 27th.
