David Sedaris: Funnier than I thought

by

Fears that author signings are one of the losses faced by traditional book culture with the rise of ebooks may now subside with the news that, apparently, some readers are satisfied with getting an author to sign their Kindle ….

According to a New York Times report by Andrew Adam Newman reports: “A recent reading in Manhattan at the Strand bookstore by David Sedaris, whose most recent book is When You Are Engulfed in Flames, may have offered a glimpse of the future. A man named Marty who had waited in the book-signing line presented his Kindle, on the back of which Mr. Sedaris, in mock horror, wrote, ‘This bespells doom.'”
