Things that won’t surprise you …

by

… but somehow are still considered breaking news.

According to an Associated Press wire story, former president George W. Bush announced today that his book begins with… his decision to stop drinking.  Or rather, a personal anecdote wherein he contemplates his love of booze in relation to his love of his wife and his family.  Lucky for us, the latter won out?

The book, Decision Points, is out this fall from Crown, on the heels of the recent release of his wife’s memoir, Spoken from the Heart.  Although, where as Mrs. Bush’s book goes deep, dealing with the emotional tragedy of the high school car accident in which a young man was killed, Bush’s autobiography is “less autobiography” and more bullet points.

The easier to read perhaps?

Who knows what other “surprises” are in store for us.
