A report in The Bookseller says the trade mag “has heard from authoritative sources that Amazon.com will finally announce the arrival of its e-book device the Kindle in the UK next week.” The report says publishers have signed non-disclosures so can’t confirm on the record, but it’s clearly sourced by a publisher whose signature means nothing. Full disclosure: Qualcomm is lined up to provide wireless service, and Amazon has selected next week for the announcement to “avoid the general kerfuffle of Frankfurt.”
