In the wake of mass firings, wage and benefit freezes and the stoppage of acquisitions, some shocking news out of a New York lawsuit: Judith Regan collected a cool $10.75 million for settling her lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. for firing her from her job as publisher of HarperCollins. And how do we know this? Because her law firm from that case, Dreier LLP, is now suing her over its legal fees and the figure was included in the filing of that complaint, according to a Bloomberg wire report by Patricia Hurtado. In a follow-up report last night, Bloomberg says Regan is now suing Dreier LLP for revealing what was supposed to have been confidential information.
