Where people with a serious book problem shop …..

Thanks to a hot tip from the great blogger Carolyn Kellogg (at the the LA Times’ Jacket Copy), we now know where to get those handy library kick stools — the ones with the hidden wheels that seem to glide down the aisle between bookcases, then lock magically in place when you step on them. The problem is they can be expensive: $129 at Williams Sonoma, $70 at Target. Where to go for something more affordable — say, oh, I don’t know, $52? A library supply store, natch.
